Main Tower Frankfurt – Helaba
Let’s be honest, Frankfurt is not famous for its sight-seeing possibilities. Many other German cities offer many more tourist attractions than Frankfurt, but here you should not miss Main Tower, which opened in early 2000. An impressive 240 meters high, it is the fourth highest tower in the city.
Main Tower, also known as Helaba, is the only skyscraper that opens its doors to the public. It has two public viewing platforms that offer an excellent panorama of the city. It is open each day for general admission, but if it is raining or the wind is blowing strongly, the platform is closed for safety reasons. Ticket prices range from 6.50 euro for a standard ticket to 17.50 for a family ticket.
For those who are afraid of heights and want a safer place, we would suggest the Main Tower restaurant on the 53rd floor. You should be aware, however, that this restaurant is quite pricey. Because of its location and great view, Main Tower has become an attractive place for wedding ceremonies, but you will have to pay an extra 1033 euro compared with just 60 euro to be married at Römer.
All in all, Main Tower offers one of the few opportunities for sight-seeing in Frankfurt. And if you have friends visiting from other cities and are wondering where to take them, Main Tower in the Zeil area is the first place you should consider.
