A comprehensive list of our favourite Frankfurt am Main neighbourhoods.
Our #1 choice for anyone looking for a young and lively neighbourhood.
The area around the Beger Strasse between Merianplatz and Bornheim Mitte is filled with small cafes, neighbourhood shops and restaurants where everyone goes for brunch on the weekends. The surroundings however are mainly quiet tree lined streets, which make Bornheim a perfectly balanced area for living.
Westend is one of Frankfurt’s best neighbourhoods for those of you who are relocating with your family and are looking for a quiet and safe area within the city.
Where most of the bankers live, Westend is one of the city’s most expensive neighbourhoods. Spread between The Alter Oper and the Palmengarten, with the banking district to the south, it has some of Frankfurt’s most beautiful antique Altbau buildings. It’s streets are quiet and tree-lined, although conveniently close to the city’s center.
Frankfurt’s city center. The best neighbourhood option if you want to be right smack in the middle of the city’s hustle and bustle!
There’s Zeil, Frankfurt’s main shopping street. Most department stores, clothing stores and malls are all in this pedestrian street between Konstablerwache and Hauptwache.
South of the Main river, this is a great neighbourhood for anyone looking to be close to the city center but in an area not as busy, although still lively.
The Schweizer Platz (pictured) is the heart of the neighbourhood, with its tree lined square surrounded by beautiful old-style houses.
